Grow a better garden with our Organic Gardening Kit
Posted On 04/13/2011 21:32:57

Greetings from T&J Enterprises!

Spring is finally here – we hope!

We have made some changes to our Organic Gardening Kit – and a radical change to the way people can now grow.

Our Organic Gardening Kit now contains our registered fertilizer, BioMinerals. (One gallon Microbe Tea Brewer version).

Our Nature's Own Growing Systems' Organic Gardening Kit is for all gardeners, landscapers and growers, good for all plants, enhances all growing methods. This approach to applying our BioMinerals fertilizer, Yucca, and Microbe tea weekly will cause the soil pH to go to 6.4 and the ERGS of energy to be above 500. $20 of BioMinerals 2.5-4-.2 powdered fertilizer applied in our Microbe Tea product provide higher available nutrients than $1,500 of the same fertilizer in granular form mixed into the soils. We did this with a local carrot grower. All other qualities equal. Both record yields for him. In 2010, 96 cups of our BioMinerals, a $60.00 dollar cost, was applied on a different half-acre and yielded over 15,000 pounds of 12 – 13 brix carrots. $60.00 versus $1,500 dollars, which would you rather spend?

With this method, we are able to get more nutrients available to your plants than from far higher levels of fertilizer mixed into the soils. Higher Yields, higher brix levels, top quality produce that does not rot after harvesting long term unrefrigerated or in cold storage, with higher specific gravity (weight) in the produce, higher nutrient levels, and weed suppression are expected results. Now you can grow clean, safe high quality vegetables, fruit, greens and plants that are high brix and nutrient dense for you and your family; grow faster, bigger, better and more and in less space at a fraction of the cost.

Our Organic Garden Kit contains the plant nutrients and soil life products you need to grow high quality plants at good and excellent brix levels. This is the ultimate goal everyone is after who grows their own food: when you eat a variety of high quality food it means your health will improve. Everyone can now easily grow a variety of high quality fruits and vegetables with our Organic Gardening Kit.

Contents of Organic Gardening Kit:

Organic Gardening Kit, with BioMinerals

BioVam Mycorrhiza root enhancer, 1 pint (96 tsp).
BioMinerals 2.5 – 4 – .2, 18.8 Lbs.
Microbe Tea Brewer, 1 gallon.
Yucca Extract, 1 pint.
5 Gallon: Bucket, Lid, Filter Bag.
Modified Hose Sprayer, 1 qt.

Base price for this version of our Organic Gardening Kit: $126.33.

How to use this Gardening Kit:

Prepare the soil by growing cover crops or applying finished compost.
Spray with Microbe Tea and till the compost or cover crop into the soil.
Apply BioVam onto plant roots and under seeds when planting.
Weekly, brew Microbe Tea, add Yucca Extract and BioMinerals and spray on plants and soils.

After the 24 hour brewing cycle is finished, BioMinerals and Yucca are added to the brewed microbe tea. The tea may then be applied using a hose end sprayer. The tea can also be diluted 1:9 with water and commercial spray equipment can be used to apply the tea to plants and soils each week.

Application Using the Modified Hose End Sprayer: Put ½ gallon of filtered tea into a 5 gallon bucket. Add ½ gallon of water. Add 1/8 cup Yucca Extract. Add 1 cup of BioMinerals. Each quart of this tea will cover 340 square feet of plants and soils.

How this system works:

Nature's Own Growing System Microbe tea makes the nutrients from the BioMinerals 2.5 – 4 – .2 fertilizer available to the plants. After the second weekly spraying, the soil pH will go to 6.4 and energy available in the soil will be above 500 ERGS. The available mineral nutrients in the Microbe tea will have a strong buffering effect on the soil and the nutrients will remain available in the soil and to the plants.

With the help of the Mycorrhiza fungi and beneficial bacteria in BioVam, and the hyper active soil life biology and chelated minerals of our Microbe Tea, biologically dead soils can be quickly revived, recharged and re-mineralized in 1-2 weeks. Plants will grow to have higher brix levels and much higher nutrient density levels due to the higher production of plant nutrients and the uptake and utilization of those nutrients by the plants. The specific gravity (nutrient density) of these plants can be significantly higher than in conventionally grown produce.

Once the higher energy levels have been set in the soils from the BioMinerals energy sources, weeds will not grow. The higher energy levels will be in place by the 1st or 2nd application of the Microbe Tea to the soils.

Frost protection

By thoroughly spraying the dormant wood of fruit bearing trees and berry shrubs once or more with our Microbe Tea product before bud break, with only Yucca Extract added, the buds and blossoms will be protected from late frosts.

Plants will also be protected from early frosts with subsequent weekly applications of the complete tea to the plants and soils which contains both Yucca and BioMinerals, from initial planting right on through to end of harvest.

Stopping fertilizer waste

Even though BioMinerals 2.5 – 4 – .2 can be mixed into the soils at a rate of 1.25 cups per square foot, we recommend that you do not mix the fertilizer into the soils. Much higher nutrient availability and far less BioMinerals fertilizer is used by mixing the BioMinerals into the Microbe Tea with Yucca Extract and spraying that Microbe Tea on the plants and soils each week.

Now anyone, anywhere can grow anything in most any conditions to high quality, high brix and nutrient dense; grow in ground or containers, inside or outdoors, in the city or country does not matter, you will grow more in the same space because yields more than triple. We've made it possible to grow food that has very long after harvest sustainability, easily, cleanly and affordably. This nation's food system is killing us and is an utter disgrace. But you knew that, right? If you didn't then it is never too late to start growing, eating and becoming healthier with high quality nutrient dense food you cannot buy, but can now grow!

Happy Gardening!

Best Regards,

Thomas Giannou

Growing high brix tomatoes, fruits, vegetables and berries.
Posted On 07/20/2010 03:06:32

Growing high brix tomatoes, fruits, vegetables and berries.

It has been our experience that it is relatively simple to grow high quality excellent brix or better in a simple compost medium using our organic garden kit - no need for expensive complex soil mixtures or expensive soil tests. Here's how we grow 13 brix large size tomatoes. Or any other vegetables, fruits and greens and berries you may want to grow.

In our Organic Gardening Kit there are: 14 cups of Biosol Mix 7-2-3 fertilizer, 7 cups of Planters II trace mineral fertilizer, 6 cups of low magnesium lime, 5 cups of soft rock phosphate, and 3 cups of gypsum. Dump them all into the 5-gallon kit bucket, put the lid on and shake thoroughly. In a container put 2 cubic feet of compost then spread 2.5 cups of this blended fertilizer over the surface, working evenly into the top 8 to 10 inches. Make a hole in the middle to receive the tomato plant. Apply about a tablespoon of BioVam (contains Mycorrhiza fungi spores and hyphe and several species of beneficial bacteria and a couple species of trichoderma fungi) on the roots of the tomato plant. Put up a six foot cage made of concrete reinforcement fabric. The plants will usually grow four feet above those cages but they are strong enough to hold the weight of the plants.

Brew up one gallon of our Microbe Tea (brewer is part of kit), add ¼ cup of Yucca Extract to the tea after it is brewed and spray it out using a modified ortho dial and spray sprayer onto the plants and soils once a week, one quart covers 500 to 1,000 square feet. The microbe food in the tea is in fine powdered form and contains organic fertilizer, lime, SRP, gypsum, planters II, soluble kelp, and dried cane molasses. Only strains of beneficial bacteria and fungi are in the microbe tea.

The minerals we use contain all the calcium compounds needed by a wide variety of plants. Many plants specialize in a predominant calcium compound and we are making sure those compounds are present and not relying on low level activity to somehow put them all together. It doesn't matter if the tomatoes are hybrid or heirloom (open pollinated). We prefer certain ones of both. When the growing season is very warm (last very warm year was 2007 in Spokane), we get about 400 large sized tomatoes off one plant in four separate pickings. Off indeterminate Roma tomato plants we can easily produce over 250 tomatoes. The brix of cherry tomato's go well above 13. We have kept tomatoes at room temperature as long as 14 months. They faded to an orange color. All the seeds sprouted. The tomatoes picked green at the end of the season ripened in two weeks and were high brix.

We keep hearing various experts warn of too much potassium out of compost. Sorry, but that doesn't interfere with what we have been doing. We've measured the ergs from the above system at 450 at the surface and one year later it was still 450. That tells us the compost is holding the minerals in place.

We have also found that weeds don't like growing in this sort of mix. When the ERGS of energy from the above system drop below 260, weeds will grow but their roots won't go into soils that are above 260 ERGS.

We have also found that if equal parts of sand, peat moss, and perlite are used to make the growing medium, it will be a total failure at growing high brix plants with this system. We have not looked at this particular problem to track what is up with it, but we suspect that a) it's not a good medium for sustaining soil life and or b) minerals leech out of the medium fairly fast and or c) some unidentified factor. Even starting seeds with that mixture really sucks.

The fastest we have seen plants grow to harvest something ripe is 28 days; tomato, cucumber, crook neck squash, and green bell pepper were ready to eat. We are talking about having at least one veggie or fruit fully mature ready to eat. This is all grown outside.

We have taken the same compost mineral mixture and put BioVam with seeds to start plants in small pots and the pots are easily filled with roots in a week. We water the seed starts with Yucca water and a hydroponics light over the seed start pots. This is fast and we don't have to acclimatize anything, just plant them out and they take off growing. We tried seed germination in peat mixes and they frequently failed.

In 2007, the last warm year we had here in Spokane, before the pre-ice-age weather started up during the summers, everything we grew was excellent brix or better with the above system. It's July 2, 2010 and 59 F at 10:55 am when it should be 20 degrees warmer. Nevertheless our tomato plants have set fruit and are about three feet high so far. They were planted as small transplants in the first week of June. We have had one day that went into the 80's so far.

Our goal has been to routinely and consistently grow all the high brix food we can eat or sell. We are doing this in a rather small backyard. There's ten grape plants, ten black berry plants, 500 raspberry plants and about 40 containers in an area about 50 x 40 feet along with a 15' above ground swimming pool. The lawn is out front with a couple of pear trees. Visitors frequently remark that we can't possibly eat all the food they see us growing in containers. Red and Yukon Gold potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, assorted herbs, squashes, peas, beans, spinach, onions, leeks, watermelon, cantaloupe, pumpkin, radishes, lettuce, grapes, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, pears, and more. We sell raspberries and blackberries and we give away lots too.

We first discovered this method of growing high brix with our Raspberries. Our red raspberries are heritage red. I had a project to move the plant rows farther apart. I dug up all the plants, rotor tilled the entire area, put BioVam that a friend had given to me on the plant roots when they went back into the ground. In a two food wide strip down each row per square foot, I put down one cup of mined gypsum, 1 cup hard rock phosphate, and 1 cup Biosol Mix 7-2-3 then raked the fertilizers into the ground. We watered the plants with an overhead sprinkler in those days. The next year I had a 100% yield increase in berries, from 20 flats to 40 flats. They were 19 brix. The birds took interest in eating raspberry plant leaves. These were the healthiest plants we've ever seen. We had clay soils which opened up four feet in depth. We found later that the primary calcium compound found in Raspberries is Gypsum. We tried that same set of ingredients on tomatoes, but I didn't get high brix. When I added lime (calcium oxide source) to the soils with the other ingredients, the brix shot up to 10. When we changed to compost growing medium and lime, SRP, and gypsum, the brix went to 13 on large tomatoes and we had a considerable increase in plant yields, easily 400 large tomatoes in four pickings of about 100 each off each plant. No plant has ever produced less than 50 to 80 tomatoes.

Furnishing soft rock / hard rock phosphate is instrumental in gaining high levels of health in plants. We are also convinced that making sure the predominant calcium compounds in each plant are represented in the calcium's will give additional leverage; we saw that to be true with Raspberries and Tomatoes. Lime does not produce the high brix raspberries but gypsum is part of what works. Gypsum does not produce high brix tomatoes but lime's presence with the other materials works to get the 13 brix tomatoes.

I found in Dr Beddoe's book, “Biologic Ionization as applied to Farming and Soil Management” that a reduction in available potassium along with an increase in available phosphate will keep the weeds down. We also found recently that gypsum added to soils can reduce the available potassium. With bacteria that makes the phosphate minerals available from soft or hard rock phosphate, we've been able to keep weeds out of our Raspberry patch for several years now. When that first happened 14 years ago, I felt like I was a slave to weeds that had been freed!

After we got high brix results with no weeds, we started looking for people who might have some answers to what was happening. Almost all the “experts” we encountered tried to talk us out of doing what we were doing saying it wouldn't work. Every time we listen to one of those “experts” we found all our progress going backwards. We've had enough of their advice, “you can't use hard rock phosphate” …“you are going to ruin your land”… “you can't get this to work in the first year”. We've been growing raspberries at 16-19 brix for 14 years! When is the land supposed to be ruined? (hype and scare tactics). Our blackberries have been a minimum of 17 brix and are going into their fourth year now with a bumper crop. Our grapes have been 22-26 brix and love the method we've been applying to them. Most of the time we are way over excellent on the brix charts on everything grown.

I credit Rex Harrill's book on using a refractometer to evaluate the quality of plants as the pivotal point that got me to look at the work of Dr Carey Reams and his students for providing some of the answers we have been looking for after growing high brix Raspberry plants.

We have achieved all this using our "Organic Gardening Kit". So can you. User's world wide report the same great results in wildly varying temperatures, soils and plants grown. You don't need special knowledge or training, just follow our simple directions. Don't have a garden in yet? Think it is too late to grow one? Not so with our Organic Gardening Kit! You have plenty of time! We have planted complete gardens here in Spokane, WA, in ground as late as the first week in August achieving complete harvest, right on through many frosts before being froze out. One year planting was done in the middle of a two week 90 degree heat wave, nothing bolted; one year planting was done in our recent cold weather summers, everything grew like it did not matter; one year was relatively normal, very high yields. All produced high yields and high brix and no losses.

Make a new beginning
Posted On 07/02/2010 19:45:11

Make a new beginning.

Do not underestimate what you think you can do and how affective you really are or can be. All numbers that move change begin with one: you. Change your world, and you change the world. What you do is everything you can, and then you do everything you think you can't. This is what those who hold power(s) always count on: on people (you) thinking they as individuals can not be effective, can not force change, can not create new solutions and change the established paradigm, and can not stop them – without their help.

Well I have news for them; we can make a new beginning and change the paradigm, and we do not need them to do it nor their permission.

It begins with you, reclaim your powers, reclaim your voice, reclaim your lives, and reclaim your direction from these bought bastards in power (congress et al) and from virtual state parasitic companies (BP, Monsanto, et al) who think they run the world and own it all, including you – and, all in the name of what, a few dollars more? Well, I am not for sale nor do I exist for their parasitic ends. And neither does humanity, this world or the life within and upon it we share it with.

What more can you do? Whatever bears pressure on that which must stop, change or go away is what you do. There is a great many actions that fit those goals. What they fear most is the people standing together as a unified whole. What they fear most is that people will awaken and say enough and have the courage to act upon it.

You can awaken, and you do have the courage. Make it so.

Yucca Schidigera Extract, benefits of humam use
Posted On 06/30/2010 20:40:56

1) Its action takes place mostly in the intestinal tract. It could be considered as an intestinal soap or cleanser - - a wetting agent for intestinal flora.

2) It helps form a protective coating on the intestinal walls.

3) Helps eliminate pathogenic organisms. Destroys deadly viruses. Encourages growth of friendly bacteria.

4) Helps conquer lower grade intestinal infections. Reduces inflammation and swelling.

5) Reduces intestinal symptoms, and disorders.

6) Decreases accumulation and growth of intestinal wastes in the colon. Beneficial in colitis, and diverticulitis.

7) Dissolves out and eliminates intestinal mucus and the wastes on the intestinal lining.

8) Relief of constipation, intermittent diarrhea, intestinal gas.

9) Relief of cramping and abdominal pains; often very rapid relief - - in minutes.

10) Lessens soreness, stiffness and swelling of joints, in some arthritis - - at least those related to intestinal toxicity and putrefaction.

11) Lessening of headaches - - migraine type.

12) An effective treatment for sores, scabs, and skin rashes.

13) Lowering of abnormal cholesterol. This is cholesterol which is part of Bile.

14) By its cortisone-like action it helps offset stresses.

15) Widely used in sanitation plants to accelerate, by the action of its saponins, the breakdown of organic wastes.

16) For some reason it helps some people to stop smoking.

17) Used as a treatment for digestive and arthritic problems in dogs, horses, before humans.

18) Saponins have a cleansing action on anything - acting as a detergent, just like a soap.

19) It has a high content of Vitamin A and B complex, vitamins and some Vitamin C.

20) It has a high content of calcium, potassium, phosphorus, iron, manganese and copper.

21) Some report that the Native Americans washed their hair with yucca to fight dandruff and hair loss.

22) It is good for treating Addison's disease.

23) No unpleasant or harmful side effects, but you may have withdrawal symptoms from toxins freed up in your intestinal tract.

Sterodial saponins may tend to break down the high molecular fats in foods whose absorption contributes to high blood pressure, hardening of the arteries, hypertriglyceridemian, and hypercholesterolemia. One of our most significant findings was that no patient taking saponin extract for 6 months or more continued to show an abnormally high blood pressure or excessive blood triglyceride and cholesterol levels. In other words, there were permanent benefits. --- Dr. Robert Bingham, Arthritis News Today, Vol 2, No 6

How Yucca Saponins reduce cholesterol: Bile acids are made from cholesterol in the liver and gall bladder and pass into the small intestines mixing with water to aid in digestion. As this mixture enters the colon, the water is reabsorbed back into the body carrying with it the bile acids and cholesterol. Saponins cannot penetrate the intestinal wall, but work within the small and large intestine. Saponins bind with the bile acids making them unavailable for reabsorption. They pass into the colon and are excreted. This forces the liver to produce more bile. To produce more bile, the liver must remove cholesterol from the blood, leaving less to build up in the arteries.

Keith Johnson, MD, editor of Turn Back the Clock newsletter, states, "Adding the yucca plant to your diet will act as a natural cortisone, and will wash out the harmful poisons that cause arthritis."

Robert Bingham, MD, director of the Desert Hot Springs Medical Clinic in Palm Springs, CA, "We have known for several years that a food supplement extracted from yucca acts like a natural form of cortisone, to reduce and eliminate the pain, swelling and joint stiffness suffered by arthritis victims. Toxic substances or harmful bacteria, when absorbed into the system, create allergic responses - anything from migraine to arthritis. Consequently, an anti-stress agent such as yucca saponin might have the same beneficial effect on wastes in the body and be effective in treating arthritis by improving and protecting the intestinal flora, rather than any direct action upon arthritis. Strong evidence supports the theory that some forms of arthritis may be caused or worsened by toxic substances occurring in the intestines and absorbed by the body. Yucca seems to inhibit these harmful intestinal bacteria and at the same time help the natural and normal forms of bacteria found in the tract.

Dr. Bingham, in the Journal of Applied Nutrition (Vol.27, No.2 and No.3), reported that 60 percent of people who took the yucca supplements experienced diminished pain, swelling, and stiffness. There were no side-effects. Further, those who took the yucca extract supplement had lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and relief from intestinal toxicity.

In 1975, Dr. Robert Bingham, director of the National Arthritis Medical Clinic, tested Yucca saponin extract on 149 patients at the California center. Most of the patients later felt less pain, stiffness, and swelling in their joints. Others also received additional benefits, such as, migraine relief, lower blood pressure, and cholesterol/triglyceride reduction. Dr. Bingham believes that the saponins aid digestion and absorption of fats. They also work as cleansing substances which help prevent absorption of harmful bacteria and protozoa from the bowel that cause the stiffness and inflammation in the joints, he says. These compounds also appear to improve circulation.

Mary Clarke, Ph.D., of Kansas State University reports that saponins "serve as natural antibiotics for the plant." And now, "scientists are looking at how they can help humans fight fungal infections, combat microbes and viruses, boost the effectiveness of certain vaccines, and knock out some kinds of tumor cells, particularly lung and blood cancers. They can also lower blood cholesterol thereby reducing heart disease.

"One of the most exciting prospects for saponins are how they appear to inhibit or kill cancer cells. They may also be able to do it without killing normal cells...(Ed. note: no side effects with yucca have been observed.) While drugs have side effects, many of them serious, saponins are safe."

According to an article written by Dr. Arnold Pike in 1990 (The Healing Properties of Yucca, Let's Live, Aug.1990), there were at that time more than 100 universities and institutions around the world investigating the natural healing properties of yucca. Native Americans of the Southwest used yucca as shampoo, to treat wounds and sores, as well as symptoms of arthritis and rheumatism. Yucca has been on the GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) list with the US FDA since 1965 (It is also used as a flavoring and foaming agent in food and beverages).

YUCCA & STOP SMOKING

A customers personal account by Larry Giannou

© Copyright 2004 by T & J Enterprises. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.

At 52 years of age after 25 plus years of smoking a pack a day or more, I quit cold turkey on February 1, 2003. I discovered that what I was taking to help an unrelated problem was also working to overcome the problems of quitting smoking.

It was producing effects conducive to quitting before I realized they were happening and why. Even though I did not intend to quit, the impact these effects were having on my system ultimately made quitting easier, as well as sticking to it. This is a chronicling of the process of that experience.

I was a long term heavy smoker; constant cough, getting sick for one or two week periods over the winter, increasingly short of breath, skin would reek in the sun or when exercising due to "smokers sweat", etc. My health was getting worse by the year. However, few smokers make their decision to quit by explicitly concluding “hey, this is bad for me I should quit!”

In past attempts quitting normally took a prompting of some kind to make the decision, and then the battle began. This time the battle was surprisingly short, mostly fought and over with behind the scenes "before I made the decision".

In early January 2003, I got sick for the second time that winter. It started as a head cold, moving into the chest. Daily, it progressed into what was likely bronchitis - been there, done that through the years and I knew the symptoms.

As I got sicker and my lungs became more congested it became more painful to "take a puff". The more I kept taking puffs, the worse I felt; even a few per day aggravated my lungs big time, making me feel like I was suffocating.

I reached the point where the discomfort of the puffs was greater than the known discomfort of not smoking a few days to a week would be to help clear up the lungs! Fully intending to start up again after my lungs cleared, I stopped. I put my last pack of smokes and lighter on top my microwave, along with the ashtray that held the butt of my last smoke.

I got sick like this many times through the years, and had no reason to think this time would be any different. The withdrawals were always miserable and I would "test puff" daily to see if my lungs still hurt. When that stopped, I started smoking again, even if not fully recovered.

Day three. I realized I was not climbing the walls, nor "test puffing" to see if my lungs still burned. Other than that, everything "seemed" more or less normal and my lungs were starting to clear. I decided to go a few more days.

Day seven. Lungs are much improved and clearing, coughing a little still from the cold. A week had past without one test puff or lighting a cig to burn in the ashtray for the secondhand smoke! Normally I would be smoking by now. I did not feel stressed about it, after all I was "not quitting" just trying to give my lungs a break. Still it struck me as odd I was not climbing the walls struggling with cravings or withdrawals, or fighting with all the "occasions and reasons”, I smoked! They were there, but distant and subdued. I decided to let it go a few more days, but it was becoming clear to me what was happening and why.

I wanted to smoke, but my "body craving compulsions and drives" to light up where noticeably and significantly reducing, like something was turning them off or dampening them. I was experiencing a strange disconnect between the psychological callings still there and the dampening effects on my physical cravings. I found myself in the odd place of repeatedly confronting "some situation or favorite occasion that use to make me strongly crave and light up", only to find the cravings greatly reduced! I was feeling in control of it, instead of controlled by it. This was something new!

With each passing day, I felt more in control and able to ignore my psychological callings because of reduced body cravings, withdrawals, and a much calmer system. Exactly what I always had trouble with in past. The more I realized I was regaining control, the more I choose to move towards it instead of back to smoking.

About 6 months before this I started taking 2 teaspoons per day Yucca Schidigera extract for a bad back I have had for years. (Multiple low back bulging disks, low back pain and in the legs). Yuccas' anti-inflammatory and cartridge regenerative properties were working exceptionally well at reducing my "back-going-out-episodes" from 3 to 5 per year, to just once in two years. My low back pain has reduced to where I stopped taking Ibuprofen and Advil type pain pills for it. Yuccas natural anti-inflammatory properties were working better than those pills, without their side effects from continuous use. However, Yucca has many other beneficial properties.

I was taking it for my back but also clearly benefiting from its ability to detoxify my body and calm and sooth my system, dampening my body cravings for those poisons. Unlike patches and gums that put toxins back into you then "step you down" in stages (a euphemism that the body needs to be detoxified). Yucca Schidigera was continuously removing toxins from my body and calming my system "well before" I had actually stopped smoking. Moreover, once I stopped that process became even more noticeable.

Before I got sick, I was smoking under a pack a day. Normally I was fighting to stay under 2 packs! The smoker's perspiration odor had also significantly reduced. Normally when exercising the smell would be awful - now barely detectable. These were clear indicators of what was happening, and at a certain point, my body made me aware of them, as “it” tried to move me towards quitting.

Day ten. I have gone this long I may as well let it ride and see if this really works; that was my decision to quit.

Day 14. By now I knew this was working and I was not only going to be smoke free but was! I was feeling much better, had more energy, and was seeing 14 days of pack-a-day money in my pocket for a change. I felt like all the various struggle point aspects of stopping smoking were like a rapidly dimming light bulb, and I was in control of the dimmer. I was also not on any phony time schedule pressure to be smoke free. Every ones body is different. For me it was more an issue of detoxification and calming the system. From first taking Yucca to this point was about 6 months. From last cig to here: 14 days! Listen to your body; it is your guide, not the calendar.

It was months before the smoker's cough ended, and smells and tastes returned I had not noticed in years. The longer I took Yucca the less appealing was the smell of smoke, one of the reasons I smoked. Now a good whiff makes me feel crappy. I have zero desire to smoke and no conflict over not lighting up.

I still had to "make the decision to quit" and do what is necessary to follow through. However, compared to other times I quit or tried this was significantly easier. I was not exactly sweating bullets over it.

I still had to address the physiological aspects associated with why I smoked. Smoking twenty-five years can deeply ingrain them. Even so, without my high body toxin levels fighting against my every effort, and a much calmer system I was surprised at how much easier my reasons, excuses and rationalized crutches were to deal with. I was in control of making the decisions, not the poisons from my smoking or my body's' desire for them. Yucca helped me regain control of my body, making quitting easier. It was the only variable here, the only thing that was different.

I still had to deal with exposure to others close to me who smoked. However, I am not the one smoking, they are. It is not my problem. All I can do is make them a gift of Yucca Schidigera and hope they use it.

Even with these issues, quitting smoking this time in comparison was straightforward, easier, decisive and final. Yucca may be one of the least know methods of quitting, but my experience has convinced me it is one of the most highly effective.

Cleaning one day I picked up those smokes that sat on the microwave for 6 months and tossed them into the garbage without a second thought. A test of will I had no trouble winning. That tells me Yucca Schidigera extract not only helped me quit, but to stay a non-smoker. It is now a non-issue.

I took between one to two teaspoons Yucca per day total. (Two worked best for me because of my back). At one teaspoon per day consumption, a quart will last about 6 months. Take at meals and through the day adding 5 to 10 drops per 8oz of liquid every time you drink liquids. I think it is important to keep it entering your system through out the day. Take daily for one to three months before you stop smoking, through the period you are actively stopping, and after since there are a great many health benefits to long term use of Yucca Schidigera extract.

How to achieve high brix tomatoes.

How to achieve high brix tomatoes.

Customer, BillSF9c writes:

"Any suggestions to increase the brix level to at least 8 for tomatoes next season?"

------

Bill,

Would 10-13 brix for large tomatoes and 15-20 brix for the smaller grape tomatoes be okay? Of course it would.

I am using a recipe also:

Mix together 6 cups of lime, 5 cups of soft rock phosphate, and 3 cups of gypsum together.

Take one cup of the above mix plus 3 cups of Biosol Mix and 1 cup of Planters II trace minerals and mix them all together. Mix that into two cubic feet of growing medium.

Put up to 1-tablespoon of BioVam on your plant roots and plant your tomato plant.

Weekly, brew up microbe tea for 24 hours, add ¼ cup of yucca extract per gallon of tea, dilute the tea 1:9 and apply to plants and soils. You can also use a hose end sprayer (we modify them to dilute the tea properly) and apply the undiluted tea to the soils and plants.

Set up a drip irrigation system to deliver water periodically during the day. ½ hour every 2 hours seems to work fine for the drip line.

We grew some tomato plants in ½ wine barrels that held 3 cubic feet of soil with a 2 square foot surface area. The plants can go as high as 10 feet and then will loop back down to the ground.

It's important with this system to apply the microbe tea weekly. We are using bacteria as a resource to make minerals available in the soils for several important reasons.

1. We need the minerals available so they can react with one another to produce the energy plants live on.

2. We need the compound mineral colloids from the soft rock phosphate available in the soils so they can feed bacteria and so they can be used by the plants to build up their cellular structures. Here's something a lot of people don't believe or accept: only compound mineral colloids will allow plants to become healthy so bugs and diseases will not eat up the plants. Ordinary mineral compounds will go into plants but they result in weak plants without the compound mineral colloids. Truly healthy plants are possible only when the compound mineral colloids are present to built most of the plant.

3. The Biosol Mix 7-2-3 is excellent food for the bacteria and fungi in our microbe tea.

4. We want the acids from the bacteria and fungi and plant roots to solubalize the minerals so the minerals can react and generate the energy the plants live on.

Compound mineral colloids are important for plant health and they are important for animal and human health. The compound mineral colloids from soft rock phosphate contain 66 mineral compounds. These colloids can quickly be placed on the plants frequency and immediately be used to build plant tissues. You will see your plants grow larger and faster when the compound mineral colloids in soft rock phosphate are made available to the plants. Mycorrhiza fungi work well to transfer the compound mineral colloids into the plants from the soil.

It is not unusual to see annual production levels of 200 to 400 tomatoes per plant for the growing season. It's also not unusual to see tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, crook neck squash, and cucumbers produce ripe produce in under 30 days. High brix results is normal for this method of growing plants. We even used this method to raise the brix of our turf grasses to 14 brix.

When sufficient minerals are reacting in the soils and the ergs approach 450, we find that most weeds will not grow in the soils with our plants. When the ergs are driven from calcium reacting with other minerals in the soil, the weeds do not like to live in such soils. They won't start growing in those soils until the minerals start dropping into the soil profile and diluting out at the surface.

If you are doing soil tests, they can cause you to do the wrong things in your soils. The best kind of soil test to do is a Morgan soil test. This test best approximates what minerals are available in your soils. But no soil test will tell what kind of mineral compounds are present and no soil test will tell you if compound mineral colloids are present in your soils. If the compound mineral colloids are low in the soil, the plants will be weak and bugs and diseases will be there to consume your plants. And eating such food will result in animals and humans that will become weaker. This is the main reason why we have so much illness that is derived from eating low quality food which fills the stores all over the USA and other countries.

If a Morgan soil test shows adequate levels of phosphorous, and you don't know the history of what has been added to that soil, you should add Soft Rock Phosphate to make sure the compound mineral colloids are present. Run another Morgan soil test and find out what the CA:P ratio is. You want it to be 18:1. Add whatever is necessary to make that happen. When you add SRP to the soils do it like this: 6 parts by volume lime, 5 parts by volume SRP, and 3 parts by volume gypsum. I've done this without soil tests on my own property and brix levels have been excellent in my raspberries (16-19), grapes (26), and now Blackberries (17) for over a decade.

Giant Pumpkins and Soil Life Microbe Tea
Posted On 10/21/2009 20:53:42

Our soil life microbe tea works great for growing all pumpkins, including GIANT PUMPKINS! This garden was planted in last few days of July, 2007.

Ninety pound Pumpkin

Ninety pound Pumpkin

Nothing Special was done. Our minerals were added to the soil, BioVam was added under the seed of the Giant Pumpkin, and applied to the root balls of the tomatoes and other squash. Plants were allowed to grow with no special attention or pampering or coaxing with trimming etc, often used for tomatoes and pumpkins. Only thing done was weekly spraying of our microbe tea mixed with yucca extract onto the plants and soils around them.
Ninety pound pumpkin day or harvest

Ninety pound pumpkin day or harvest

High performance and high brix is achieved when people do nothing special. When they do their little pampering tricks and trimming etc, the performance only goes up! Thing is our “normal” high performance is usually way out ahead of any pampering methods used to try to get “high performance!” Thus, people are usually shocked at what happens when they combine our products with their tender loving care! Go figure. :)

Hobo Spider Information Sheet
Posted On 05/19/2009 03:23:59

Hobo Spider Information Sheet

The Hobo Spider is one of the most dangerously venomous spiders in the United States. The Hobo's "stronghold territory" ranges from extreme southern Alaska through southern B.C. and Alberta Canada to central and southern California, east into central Colorado. However, we have confirmed catches throughout the continental USA to the eastern seaboard and into all Gulf States, making the "Hobo Spider" a national pest.

The Hobo Spider, originating from Europe began its infestation of the continental USA in the Port of Seattle some time before the 1930's. Most poisonous spider bites in the western half of the USA are due to the Hobo spider.

A venomous bite from a Hobo or Brown Recluse Spider can be severe. Necrotic arachnidism results from envenomation (venom poisoning) from the bite of Hobo, or Recluse. It occurs due to the venom's ability to clot blood that results in an area of tissue receiving inadequate blood flow and thus dying secondary to oxygen starvation.

Up to 50% of bites by dangerously venomous spiders are "dry" with no venom injected and no signs of poisoning developing. Most people bitten and envenomated by Hobo or Recluse spiders do not feel the initial bite and do not see the biting spider. Bites that are more serious occur when the Hobo gets between clothes or bedding and skin and is trying to get away. Keeping clothes, bedding and storage boxes off the floor is a wise precaution, since they are preferred hiding places for the Hobo. People often get bit in bed, sleeping on couches or floors, when putting on clothes, coats, gloves or shoes that have been on the floor, getting into sleeping bags and when picking up piles of laundry.

Seek medical attention if you think you have a Hobo or Brown Recluse spider bite. If possible collect up the spider or what remains of it and take with you to your doctor or emergency clinic.

"The Spider Elimination Kit" is regularly featured in TV news and radio reports as the most effective way to control and eliminate populations in your living environment of the dangerously venomous Hobo and Brown Recluse spiders, as well as a variety of other poisonous and nuisance crawling insects commonly found in homes.

Chemical spraying does not control the Hobo spider. Spraying kills far more predator and competing spiders and insects than it does Hobo's, and has been a major contributor to the Hobo's population explosion throughout the USA. It also kills insects the Hobo hunts and prey upon, forcing the spider to roam over wider areas in search of food. Customers report Hobo populations increasing upwards of three times after spraying. The spider is also becoming highly resistant to some chemical sprays. Conversely, dramatic declines and elimination of Hobo populations are being reported from consistent year round use of our traps in widely varying living environments.

The Hobo spider has a three-year life cycle and is more active during its mating months of June to late October, when the males are roaming widely entering homes and other structures looking for nesting females. The three-year-old mature males generally die off after mating. The females often remain at their nest with the egg sacks until late November, into December. Hobos' lay one to three egg sacks containing 100 or more eggs each.

Reports indicate no matter the infestation location, juvenile Hobo's (one and two year olds) are regularly caught inside homes and other heated structures, as are adults throughout their non-mating cycle months (November through May). Proving the Hobo Spider has year round activity inside heated structures. Reports also indicate as many bites occur during these (non-mating cycle) months as during mating season months. The bite from juveniles are often more toxic than the adults.

Homes are "crawling with food sources" for juvenile Hobo spiders and two year olds maturing into mating adults. Since “The Spider Elimination Kit” is effective at trapping a wide variety of crawling insects and other spiders, it is removing potential food sources while catching Hobo Spiders. This also tends to attract and trap Hobo's in the immediate area to the traps for what looks to be an easy meal.

It is very important for people to become aware Hobo spiders are not just around and active and a concern during their mating months, they are an active and dangerous year round pest.

Many assumptions about the Hobo Spider based on the behavior characteristics of its European cousin, simply have not turned out to be the case at all with the Americanized Hobo Spider.

The Hobo Spider has adapted to its (North American) habitat very well, to modern dense urban living environments, peoples living and building practices, temperature extremes and geographic location. These adaptations and "environmental adjustments" in the spiders' behavior have not followed predictions about their adaptations, making the Hobo spider a far more dangerous pest than it's European cousin.

Misinformation regarding the Hobo spider and refusal to believe they are happening by “authorities that should know better” can cause people harm. Misinformation is responsible for creating a self-perpetuating mythology now in place about the Hobo spider. Misinformation is also responsible for the national spread of this spider, by using ineffective control practices that contribute to its spread.

Some of the more important environmental, behavioral and nesting characteristic adaptations of the Hobo Spider are:

  • They are now widely found throughout all states, coast to coast.
  • The Hobo is highly adaptive to location, environmental and temperature changes.
  • Coastal shipping, interstate commerce, more people moving more often and over greater distances have facilitated the Hobo's spread nationally.
  • They are active year round and throughout the winter months inside heated structures, with one and two year olds commonly not only wintering over inside homes, but living out their life cycles in homes.
  • Adults are nesting more inside heated inhabited structures then thought.
  • The Hobo spider has a three-year life cycle.
  • People receive confirmed Hobo bites throughout the year, not just during the generally more active mating months (June to late October), indicating higher levels of year round adult and juvenile activity.
  • Chemical spraying "does not" control the Hobo, but has become a major reason for their behavioral changes inside and out; they are resistant to many of these chemical sprays. Sprays kill down many traditional food sources, forcing the spider to hunt over a broader spectrum of potential pray and locations.
  • They roam widely within structures and outside.
  • A bite from the Hobo can kill you; people with weakened immune systems, the elderly and young children and pets are most susceptible.
  • Hobo populations are effectively depleted through year round use of “The Spider Elimination Kit” traps, the original and best non-poisonous sticky traps.

To effectively control and eliminate Hobo spiders from your living environment, keep our traps in place throughout your home year round, thus catching juveniles before they mature and adults before they can breed. Our traps also catch a variety of small anthropoids and other crawling insects (even mice), helping to rid your homes of potential Hobo food sources and other pests.

”The Spider Elimination Kit” traps have a natural organic attractant, are 100% environmentally, and contact safe.

The Hobo is "not" an aggressive spider. That is a myth. Hobo's have poor vision seeing clearly only to about a foot or two away. However, being a fast spider - listed as one of the fastest spiders in the world by Guinness Book of World Records - when they sense potential danger or are startled they will run, often towards the source – which is often a person. A startled spider can run up the shoe and pant leg very quickly. The bites from both male and female Hobo's as well as juveniles are poisonous and young and old all have a distinct herringbone or chevron like pattern on top their dorsal abdomen. Hobo spiders prefer floor or ground level habitats, rarely found high on walls or at ceiling level. However we have many reports of them climbing carpeted stairs to upper floors with ease.

Designed to catch the Hobo and Brown Recluse spiders, "The Spider Elimination Kit" traps are also an effective, safe means of controlling many insects commonly found in the home. Consistently catching ants, flies, inside centipedes and other anthropoids, silverfish, beetles and other nuisance spiders, all potential food sources of the Hobo spider. They will even catch mice.

”The Spider Elimination Kit” is available at all Safeway stores and other fine retailers!

From farm to table, what is wrong with our food?
Posted On 04/24/2009 02:55:01

People are always asking us what makes you guys so different from the tons of vendors of garden products?

Here's the scenario from the farm to your table.

The growers are growing food that is low in nutrient value and quality. Some of the food spoils or is eaten up by insects and diseases right there on the farm and is thrown out or recycled back into the soil. The food that is harvested is crated up and shipped to food distributors. The food distributor throws out some of the food that has spoiled by the time they receive it. The food distributor supplies a number of stores and the stores throw out some of the food that spoils before they can put it on the shelf for the public to purchase. You, the consumer go to the store and purchase what looks good to you, passing over what is already spoiling since it was put out! You take it home and store it for a short while expecting to consume it, but end up finding a percentage has spoiled easily within days to a week, having to throw out part of that purchase.

We have put an end to those losses and low quality plants.

Our Organic Garden Kit allows nutrient packed high quality food to be grown which doesn't spoil after it is harvested. It isn't eaten up by bugs and disease organisms don't bother this food. High quality food doesn't spoil on the farm. It doesn't spoil on its way to the food distributor. It doesn't spoil on its way to the various stores. And it doesn't spoil after the consumer purchases it. High quality food has much higher levels of nutrients present than the food that spoils so readily. With low quality food we experience declining health and with high quality food we experience improved health. This is the ultimate goal we all seek through the consumption of high quality food: good health. The problem is you can not buy this quality level of food! But we have solved that problem and high quality food can now easily be grown with our Organic Garden Kit.

What is the significance of what we are doing? Changing the Way the World Grows, literally.

Changing the Way the World Grows
Posted On 04/06/2009 01:49:04

Here's what we do for soil fertilizer applications; it's not just calcium that we are focused upon.

We supply in our Organic Gardening Kit and recommend the following:

Per 14 square feet, the following are applied and mixed into the top few inches of soil.

14 cups of Biosol Mix 7-2-3 fertilizer (we are a major distributor of Biosol Organic Fertilizer in the greater inland northwest). This is food for bacteria and fungi. When we spray our microbe tea on the plants and soils, the Biosol Mix 7-2-3 fertilizer insures that there is plenty of food for the bacteria and fungi to eat so those organisms do not lock up everything in the soil and take resources away from the plants. This product is a great source of nitrate nitrogen (in organic form with bacteria action). It is also a source of ammonia nitrogen (in organic form with bacteria action). Nitrate is a must for plant growth. Ammonia nitrogen is a must for buds, flowers, and fruit / vegetable development.

7 cups of Planters II trace mineral fertilizer (which we are also a major distributor of in the greater inland northwest). This ensures that all the vital trace elements plants need are present. This fertilizer also contains 5-14% available calcium. Everything in this fertilizer is available without microbe action. The binding agent is molasses - a good food source for bacteria in the soils.

6 cups of prilled lime which we are also a major supplier of in the inland northwest. 34% calcium by weight. The bentonite binding agent is a zeolite which helps retain moisture in the soils as well as increases the cation exchange capacity of the soil.

5 cups of calphos soft rock phosphate 0-3-0 which we are also a major supplier of in the inland northwest. This product has a total of 20% phosphate with 3% water soluble. It is a source of mineral colloids. The reaction between calcium and calphos produces the energy that plants need to live on. This is also 20% calcium by weight. The bentonite binding agent is a zeolite which helps retain moisture in the soils as well as increases the cation exchange capacity of the soil.

3 cups of Cal-CM plus Gypsum which we are also a major supplier of in the inland northwest. The calcium (23%) in this product is highly available. The binding agent is molasses, a good food source for bacteria in the soils.

BioVam Mycorrhiza which we are the exclusive world wide distributor of, is applied to plant roots or with seeds at the time of planting. BioVam is one of our soil life products that brings into play Mycorrhiza fungi, several very beneficial helper bacteria, and trichoderma fungi.

Weekly sprays of our Microbe Soil Life Tea (which we invented and manufacture, wholesale and retail world wide, with Yucca Extract (which we are a major world wide distributor of) added serve as foliar feeds to supply all of the above fertilizers in micronized form as a source of chelated minerals and nitrate and ammonia nitrogen's released by bacteria action on the organic fertilizer material.

With the application of the above materials, we override the contents of the leeched out soils in the top 3-6” of the soil with nutrients that put in place calcium's, phosphate, mineral colloids, all the trace elements, nitrate and ammonia nitrogen sources. We are insuring that the materials needed to produce the energy plants need to live on are present. We put these into the soil in the correct ratios to achieve the needed energy reactions and subsequent nutrient availability.

This whole system of nutrients is made available by applying a lot of bacteria and fungi (all good bacteria and fungi) that will release a lot of organic acids as they eat the Biosol Mix 7-2-3 fertilizer ingredients. It's those acids that activate all the minerals in the soils and drive the ERGS up well above 200. Ph doesn't matter much when the ERGS are at 370 in the soil which we easily achieve.

The result of all this biological and mineral activity in the soils is that plants grow faster, yield much more, and consistently produce excellent brix levels in the produce harvested and have greatly enhanced flavors. Our first tests of this mineral combination above yielded large 10 brix tomatoes that we have stored at room temperature for 16 months without spoilage. (See home page of our web site http://www.tandjenterprises.com.) They were grown in 2007. We have a picture on our web site of some of those tomatoes grown in 2007 along side 13 brix tomatoes grown in 2008. The yields per tomato plant in 2007 averaged between 300 and 400 large tomatoes in 4 pickings per plant. In 2008, with the coldest summer on record (in the 30's at night and 69 F at noon in the hottest part of the year) we saw only about 80 large tomatoes per plant at 13 brix average.

We have tried the soil test route, but it never seems to achieve the goals we have been after in getting high yields that are also consistently high brix in the first year. The 6-5-3 ratios of materials were sourced in what Dr. Carey Reams taught. Dr. Reams also taught people that if they were using soft rock phosphate or hard rock phosphate that a hyperactive bacteria system was a must in the soils. We are the only ones with this Microbe Tea in the world. (Not to be confused with compost tea; we do not extract from a medium but provide the bacteria and propagate it out into the billions as a gardening resource, something compost teas can not achieve.

Our microbe tea isn't just bacteria and fungi in water. It contains all of the above fertilizer nutrients in finely powdered form with dried cane molasses and soluble kelp in finely powdered form. Our weekly sprays of tea are providing a foliar feed of chelated minerals along with nitrate and ammonia nitrogen's as a result of bacteria action on the Biosol Mix 7-2-3. With the addition of Yucca Extract to our microbe tea after the tea is brewed, we insure that plant cells are made more permeable to nutrient and water uptake. This is what enables us to get excellent performance, out of the box, in the very first year this method is used.

We made another discovery last year when we expanded our testing of the above system out of our 2 cubic foot containers to garden soils and turf grasses. Weeds did not grow in soils for 2.5 months and weeds left turf grass areas for 2.5 months. We plan on doing more tests by reducing the application rates noted above to see where the threshold is for the weeds. Many different experts claim that weeds are an indicator the soil is deficient in nutrients. Following soil tests and subsequent recommendations for adding materials to the soil, we always saw weeds grow in those soils. This is why we are somewhat leery about doing soil tests and their recommendations. As far as I know, we are the first to find that we can suppress weed growth by using the above application rates.

The amounts of fertilizers may seem high to some people, but the results we have seen in different locations, soil, turf grass, and containers, that suppress all weeds, and produce high yields of nutrient dense produce at excellent brix levels the first year, are goals we have not seen achieved by any of the other companies who are working to produce results like what we have achieved. We even found that the turf grass we treated with the above minerals brixed at 14 after running the grass clippings through a wheat grass juicer.

We are now offering an Organic Gardening Kit that contains all of the above fertilizers, with a microbe tea brewer and yucca extract at 25% off the retail prices of those products (see our web site for details http://www.tandjenterprises.com).

We know this is a lot for people to digest but we thought we would give this out to people they could gain a better insight into what we have been doing and are supplying to our customers throughout the world. Yes, we are looking for retailer to carry our Organic Gardening Kit in Washington State.

Home and Yard Show
Posted On 04/06/2009 01:09:54

At the Home and Yard show this year three or four farmers came forward to introduce themselves at the Home and Yard show as being people trained by Dr Carey Reams.  Things like this make me think about how small our world is at times.

They were delighted to see that we were really promoting the use of a refractometer as a means of evaluating the quality of plants grown. We made up a brochure with a brix chart to hand out to people. A lot of people had refractometers they used in their work, but everyone was keenly interested in learning that an increase in the Brix of plant juices meant an increase in plant quality.

A lot of people, as soon as they learned about the relationship between high mineral content and high brix levels, took the leap towards getting a refractometer so they could measure the quality of the food they were getting out of local stores.

Grow healthy, eat healthy, and be healthier.

Happy Gardening!
