I love wreaths of all shapes and sizes. Round, square, heart shaped, oval-I just love them all, which prompted me to write this blog. Following are a few tidbits of information I have discovered about wreaths while browsing the web.
*Evergreen wreaths symbolize strength. *The circular shape of wreaths commonly symbolizes eternity. *In ancient Greece and Rome, the laurel wreath became a symbol of achievement. *The ancient use of laurel head wreaths in Greece and Rome eventually led to the wearing of crowns by royalty. *The advent wreath was first associated with German Lutherans in the 16th century as a way to prepare for the coming of Christ. As one can see, wreaths have been a part of human life for a very long time and have come to have many diverse meanings.
