Posted On 12/31/2011 11:49:32 by kandkflorals
Happy New year From K and K Floral and Design!

I love swirled designs, whether it be on fabric, walls, gift wrap, artwork, and much more. There are many meanings and ways spirals symbolize positive attributes, reaching across almost all cultures and ethnicity's, including but not exclusive to Ireland, Australia, Native Americans,  and many more. It remains nonsectarian, belonging to all of us. The spiral can mean holistic growth, awareness of self within the whole, connec... Read More

River Rafting - Wild or Scenic
Posted On 10/22/2011 18:50:07 by GrapevineTravelAdventures

Most everyone has heard of white water rafting.  Those who like a bit of adventure have a great time splashing through bumps and dips in the wild waters of river rapids. What about rafting for people who prefer a quieter ride?  It does exist, in the form of scenic river floats.  Many people find a day on the river quite enjoyable, whether a wet and wild white water adventure or a serene scenic float.   White Water Rafting on Washington's Wenatchee River  ... Feeling the Love of...Wire and Crystals

I discovered the beauty of Deco Wire about two years ago while browsing for new and unique products and accents to add to my silk flower designs, and I fell in love with it. I started out by designing wire picks for wedding bouquets and corsages and boutonnieres. I then branched out to develop my signature Crystal Wire Gift Jewels. High Country Pack Trip
Posted On 08/21/2011 21:38:22 by GrapevineTravelAdventures
Imagine riding a horse through snow on a warm sunny day in August.  This may sound like an impossible contradiction, but I did just that on a high country pack trip with Icicle Outfitters & Guides of Washington State.

Icicle Outfitters offers everything from day rides near Leavenworth and at Lake Wenatchee State Park, to drop camps where they pack in gear for hikers or hunters, to full service pack trips.  In the winter they even have sleigh rides.

Teaching Them To Work
You may be tired of hearing about what we do to teach our kids about responsibility and how to work. But I will probably never get tired of telling you. More importantly I know I will never get tired of telling you about our fantastic children.

Yesterday I had the boys pull weeds at our store in Airway Heights. They didn't really care for that but they understood the importance. Today it was all about taking care of the critterz we have either adopted or pur... Read More

Feeling the Love of...Wrapping Gifts
Posted On 08/02/2011 16:13:23 by kandkflorals
I love to wrap and package gifts in unique ways, and I've always loved to show my unique and creative spirit with those I care about. In fact, my three daughters and I occasionally spend an afternoon wrapping packages with handmade bows and hand decorated boxes and bags, with lots of oohs and ahhs heard around the table, along with lots of giggling and sipping coffee and tea. I have so loved passing on my creative nature with my girls through the years, and I am thrilled that they all l... Read More

My Take On Life: A Branding Story

I have spent the last week on and off taking my wife to the next level of branding. I don't mean that I stuck her with a hot iron.......although......

 Naw just kidding.
What I have been working on is coaching her into how to use Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, and different tools in her own website to create a single uniform thread of recognition. She has always been great at what she does. Thin... Read More

Bloggin' From The Tent

I decided to take a break from writing a real blog post (oh, wait....that's what I'm doing) and just give you a snapshot into our lives. This is where I spend many an evening giving you a glimpse into Spokane while my wife is soaking in the outdoor tub. I know it's not much of a post but, as you know.....
I'm King of the 15 Minute Blog Post...

Resurrection of a Ship, Birth of a Company
Posted On 07/11/2011 00:02:42 by GrapevineTravelAdventures
One small ship cruise line goes under.  Most people would have seen their ships as fodder for the scrap yard.  Dan Blanchard of American Safari Cruises saw them as the means to start a new company.  With the complete overhaul of two ships formerly of Glacier Bay, InnerSea Discoverieswas born, a small-ship cruise line with a taste for adventure and exploration of wild places.   The first time I saw the Wilderness Discoverer she sat high and dry in a shipyard in Seattle. Slip, Slop, Slap in the summer

The weather has been so nice lately! Wylo my Beagle loves to go out on the deck and lay in the sun.
Remembering one of my customers fair skinned pets from a few years past-I put some sunscreen on Wylo's tummy, inside thighs as well as her nose and ears.
Yes-dog's and cat's can get sun burnt just like us. Just like us they can also get skin cancer.
Any dog who spends a lot of time out side can get sun burnt. However some dogs are more susceptible than others to burn.
